Karmravor Church is an old stone building. It can be used in different game systems as an impassable terrain (that blocks a line of sight) or as a part of a diorama of town/village in combination with other buildings.

This kind of buildings dates from the 7th century and perfectly fits medieval and Modern Age (X-XX) landscapes. It’s compatible with 10 or 15 mm miniatures of 1/100 and 1/72 scale.

The building is also compatible with railroad models of H0 scale. You can add this model to your H0 railroad diorama or use it to make quick and simple terrain alongside of an assembled basic railroad kit.

The prototype of this model is the historical Karmravor church. It was erected by priests Gregory and Manas in 7th century. The church is located on the northeast side of the town of Ashtarak in Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. According to a legend three sisters lived in Ashtarak, all of whom fell in love with the same man, prince Sargis. The elder two sisters decided to commit suicide in favor of the youngest one. One wearing an apricot-orange dress and the other wearing a red dress, they threw themselves into the gorge. When the youngest sister found out, she put on a white dress and also threw herself into the gorge. Sargis then became a hermit and three small churches appeared at the edge of the gorge, named after the sisters' dress colors.

Surp Astvatsatsin is a simple building with a small cruciform central-plan and a Byzantine style single red tile dome roof. It is a small church measuring only 19 feet 7 inches by 24 feet 6 inches. The apse is horseshoe shaped in the interior, and is rectangular on the exterior. It has an octagonal drum, and is simply decorated with geometric and foliage patterns around the eaves and cornices (Wikipedia).

The model of Karmravor Church is made of durable 1 millimeter thick cardboard; it has double-sided full-color printing and embossing. So you have no need to paint this terrain because it has nice and realistic exterior pictures and detailed interiors.

Note that through the material of the model (cardboard) you can modify it or turn it to a ruined or a burned out building.

The model is provided with language independent step-by-step instructions and can be easily assembled without glue or scissors.
