Caravel is a type of small sailing ship, formed in the middle of the XV century in Portugal. The so-called lateen sails of a triangular shape gave it speed and the capacity for sailing windward, which is convenient for maneuvering and movement along the coast. Sometimes they were used on caravels at the same time as straight sails.
Caravels were common in Europe in the second half of the 15th and early 16th centuries. Caravels of Bartolomeu Dias, Vasco da Gama and Columbus opened the way for Europeans to India and America.
The Caravel can impress even the most experienced fans of terrain. Undoubtedly, your imagination will suggest a lot of plots for playing with this model!
The model itself is an exact copy of a medieval ship and it is very realistic and detailed.
But the main feature is the ability to use this model in war games of 25 and 28 mm and in RPGs. It can be used in scenarios with naval battles with boarding or for battles in a port. You can buy the Caravel model for tactical war games such as Castles, Cogs & Chevauchees or Confrontation. With terrain models of the Medieval Town series you would be able to create amazingly realistic Harbor landscape.
The Caravel is made of durable cardboard of 1.5 millimeters thick; it has double-sided full-color printing and embossing (note that embossing is a unique technology for cardboard models!). Note that through the material of the model (cardboard) you can modify it or turn it to a ruined or a burned out ship. The model could be easily assembled without glue or scissors. It is provided with colorful language independent step-by-step instructions.
